His outburst Friday, Feb. 7, marks yet another escalation in the rap artist’s long history of inflammatory and hateful rhetoric. In a string of all-caps posts on the X platform, West declared himself “a Nazi” and professed his admiration for Adolf Hitler, writing: “I love Hitler, now what b*****s?”
He also made sweeping, offensive generalizations about Jewish people, stating: “Some of my best friends are Jewish and I don’t trust any of them.” West went on to claim that “racist stereotypes exist for a reason and they all be true,” while also alleging that “Jewish people actually hate White people and use Black people.”
This latest tirade also saw West retract his December 2023 apology for his previous antisemitic remarks. At the time, the rapper of “Gold Digger” and “Famous” fame previously issued a public apology in Hebrew for antisemitic remarks he made a year prior.
“I’m never apologizing for my Jewish comments,” West defiantly wrote on Friday. “I can say whatever the f**k I wanna say forever. Where’s my f*****g apology for freezing my accounts?”
Ye’s endless spiral of controversy
West’s recent comments echoed his December 2022 appearance on “The Alex Jones Show,” where he praised Hitler and downplayed the atrocities of the Nazi regime. During the interview, West said “I like Hitler” and claimed that the dictator had done “good things.” He also argued, “We gotta stop dissing the Nazis all the time,” a statement that drew widespread condemnation.
The rapper’s appearance on InfoWars, alongside commentator Nick Fuentes further fueled the controversy. Fuentes accused Jews of hating gentiles and made claims about Jewish law, while Jones largely failed to challenge their rhetoric. West’s continued association with figures like Fuentes and his refusal to back down from his views have solidified his reputation as a purveyor of views that the mainstream would most likely shun.
The backlash to West’s latest remarks has been swift and severe. Jewish organizations and human rights groups have condemned his comments as not only offensive but also dangerous. Hadara Ishak, president of Jewish Future Promise, stated: “Once again, Kanye West has spewed vile antisemitism, glorifying Hitler and spreading Nazi propaganda on his social media platforms in a desperate bid for attention.”
The fallout has also extended to West’s professional life. Russian designer Gosha Rubchinskiy announced he was ending his collaboration with Ye’s fashion brand, though it remains unclear whether the decision was directly tied to the rapper’s latest outburst. This follows previous consequences for West’s 2022 antisemitic remarks, including the termination of his partnerships with adidas and Gap, as well as temporary bans from social media platforms.
