Actor Sylvester Stallone of “Rambo” and “Rocky” fame has announced that he and his family are permanently leaving California and heading east to Florida.
The 77-year-old Stallone made this announcement during the second season premiere of his reality TV series “The Family Stallone” on Paramount+. He mentioned that their home in Southern California will be sold, and a new home awaits the family over in the Sunshine State.
“After a long, hard consideration, your mother and I have decided it’s time to move on and leave the state of California permanently,” the actor addressed his three daughters – Scarlet, Sistine and Sophia. “We’re going to sell this house. We already have the place; it’s a done deal.”
According to the Epoch Times, Stallone purchased a lavish $35.4 million mansion in Palm Beach, Florida in 2021. Three years later, the mansion will finally be occupied by the Stallones.
Jennifer Flavin, Stallone’s wife of 26 years, told Fox News during the inaugural Rocky Day celebration in December that she’s “really happy” about the relocation, calling it “an incredible move.”
“I was born and raised there, two of our kids were born there,” said Flavin. “But now everyone’s out. Our daughters moved to the East Coast, … so there wasn’t really anything left for me in California.”
“A few of our best friends also moved, so I think it’s a good change. Just making new friends, living a totally different lifestyle – I love it, I’m really happy.”
Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis positively reacted to the Stallones’ announcement in a post on X. “Welcome to the Free State of Florida,” she wrote on Feb. 23 alongside a clip of Stallone revealing the plan to relocate. “In addition to respecting and protecting your God-given, constitutional right to be free, you can also buy toothpaste without having an armed guard … unlock [the display case] for you.”
Stallone and Flavin are just two of the many celebrities moving to Florida in recent years. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and former football star Tom Brady have also relocated to the Sunshine State.
In December, Breitbart News listed down several popular figures who departed the Golden State due to its “high taxes, soaring crime, out-of-control homelessness, and one-party Democrat rule.” Here are three personalities included in the list.
Known by the moniker “Marky Mark” during his early days, the Oscar-nominated star moved with his family to Nevada so he could provide “a better” life for his children. In an earlier interview, Wahlberg mentioned that “a lot of Hollywood is living in a bubble” and that its denizens are “pretty out of touch with the common person.”
The “Lois and Clark” star left the Golden State after being a resident there for decades, relocating to Nevada just like Wahlberg. “California has gone crazy in a sense,” remarked the “Ripley’s Believe it or Not” host. “Look at the taxation; look at the regulations; look at the silly laws that have been passed.”
Once known as “Rod the Mod,” the 78-year-old British rocker is selling his Los Angeles home, claiming that he is fed up with the “toxic culture” in the City of Angels. Initially listing his LA home for $70 million, he increased its selling price to $80 million. Stewart plans to spend more time at his home in the United Kingdom. Tattoo artist Kat Von D (born Katherine von Drachenberg) recently made headlines for her return to Christianity. Included in her efforts to turn over a new leaf was her departure from California to a small Indiana town. According to Breitbart News, she plans to “open a private studio” at her new home in the Hoosier State.
