Bill Nye accidentally discredits GMOs, vaccines, pesticides and fluoride by claiming transgenderism is “evolution”

Okay, I’m not the most scientific person on the planet, but even to me, it seems logical and obvious that if someone claiming to be “the science guy” makes outrageously incorrect statements about one scientific fact, we should be taking his other statements with a bucket load of salt, right? Well, his recent actions have made many think that perhaps Bill Nye should henceforth be known as the “sell-out guy” rather than any description related to real science.

Though he’s been on the slippery slope for some time now, when Nye recently launched his new series Bill Nye Saves the World on Netflix, he sank to a whole new level of low, teaming up with actress Rachel Bloom for a segment that blatantly endorsed transgenderism. While Bloom sang a truly hideous, not even a little bit catchy song with lyrics like, “This world of ours is so full of choice. But must I choose between only John or Joyce? Are my options only hard or moist? My vagina has its own voice,” Nye gyrated happily in the background. After making the statement that her “sex junk is so much more than either or,” and including more unsavory lyrics like “Versatile love may have some butt stuff,” Bloom sang, “It’s evolution; ain’t nothing new.”

Was Nye horrified by the assertion that transgenderism is somehow an evolutionary fact? Not at all! His response? “That’s exactly the right message, Rachel. Nice job.”

And with that, what was left of his tattered reputation as a science guy went out the window. No matter what a person’s personal beliefs regarding transgenderism might be, that doesn’t alter scientific fact. Even the American College of Pediatricians has stated clearly that “human sexuality is an objective biological binary trait [not a choice]” and urged “educators and legislators to reject all policies that condition children to accept as normal a life of chemical and surgical impersonation of the opposite sex. Facts – not ideology – determine reality.”

Of course, if Nye’s show was just meant to be funny or offer his personal views on different things that would be an entirely different matter, but according to the show’s bio on IMDB, “Each episode of the series will tackle a topic from a scientific point of view, dispelling myths, and refuting anti-scientific claims that may be espoused by politicians, religious leaders or titans of industry.” [Emphasis added]

And that’s where the wheels fall off. The show is supposed to be offering facts from a scientific viewpoint.

For those who have been observing Nye for some time, this fiasco is hardly surprising. Back in the day, when he still had some semblance of a reputation, Nye took a stance against the mainstream narrative if he felt it was unscientific. An example of this is the issue of genetically modified organisms (GMOs). In 2013, Nye expressed serious concerns about the effects of genetic engineering in an Eyes of Nye video. He called for responsible farming, labeling of food products and careful testing of foods, all of which was sound advice. Then the greed seems to have set in, and in 2015, after meeting with Monsanto representatives, Nye suddenly became a believer in all things GMO and started singing a totally different tune. He’s also become a mouthpiece for the global warming crew, pushing for criminal convictions for climate change deniers.

And, of course, he would never take a stand against toxic vaccine ingredients (like mercury) or the fluoridation of water.

Basically, he now sells himself to the highest bidder, shilling for things he never believed in before. (RELATED: Who’s the real scientist – Bill Nye or the Health Ranger?)

Fans who have been growing increasingly disillusioned are likely to feel that this latest debacle is just the final nail in the coffin for Bill Nye. After all, if he doesn’t understand the basic biology of the human body, how can we accept anything else he tells us as scientific fact?
