The 725 pages of emails from Hillary Clinton’s private server released Monday by Judicial Watch include a peculiar request from U2 front man Bono.

In an email dated May 27, 2009, former Bill Clinton aide Ben Schwerin wrote to Doug Band, another aide to the former president and Clinton Foundation executive, as well as longtime Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin to inquire about a request from the humanitarian and musician.
“Bono wants to do a linkup with the International Space Station on every show during the tour this year,” Schwerin wrote. “I’m trying to figure out who the best contact is to talk to at NASA or the congressional committee on science and technology. Any ideas? Thks.”
Both Abedin and Bland replied “no clue,” but U2 did end up featuring video from astronauts aboard the International Space Station during shows on the North American and European legs of its “U2 360°” tour. Bono has previously supported the Clinton Foundation.
Bono was not the only singer Band and Abedin dealt with that day, the emails show. Band also emailed Abedin that day because “John Fogerty looking to speak to someone w hrc.” Abedin replied by asking if Fogerty was “the singer dude?” and Band replied that he was.
