The other day, prior to the Republican debate in Las Vegas, Republican candidate Mike Huckabee took a picture with one of his adoring fans. That fan, it turns out, was a prostitute who goes by the name “Sable Renae” when working at a Carson City brothel called Sagebrush Ranch. On the Sagebrush Ranch website, Miss Renae bills herself as “A MILF With Sex-Perience;” on the side, she stars in “granny” porn flicks. Although a sexual libertine, Miss Renae is downright conservative when it comes to politics.^[1]

Of course, Mr. Huckabee had no idea that Miss Renae was a so-called harlot when he agreed to pose with her. Although he bears a striking resemblance to Gomer Pyle, who is known to be a homosexual, Huckabee has a reputation as a squeaky-clean Christian family man, and is on record as being against prostitutes because they are freeloaders who abuse Social Security and Medicare.^[2] Given his background, one can be almost certain Huckabee would disapprove of Miss Renae’s movie, Horny Grannies Love to F**k.^[1]

But rags like The National Enquirer have made a big deal out of it, as if a celebrity like Huckabee has time to vet every person that he stops to take a picture with. No doubt he would not have posed with a hooker if he had known she was, in fact, a hooker — just like John Lennon wouldn’t have signed an autograph for Mark David Chapman if he’d known that Chapman was going to assassinate him later that evening.

From a practical perspective, then, Huckabee’s gone-viral picture with Sable Renae is no big deal. In fact, the mainstream media didn’t even report on the story — though it’s uncertain whether that’s intentional or just typical incompetence.
